Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology celebrated the 53rd Engineers Day on digital platform virtually today, to commemorate the 158th birth anniversary of Sir Mokshagundam Visweswarayya, with a row of events that enlightened the budding engineers.
Visionary, Educationalist, Entrepreneur and Er. Sri Vasireddy Vidya Sagar, Chairman of VIVA-VVIT Institutions, after conveying his wishes to all Engineering Community, expressed that VVIT is always committed to provide smart & efficient technocrats to the country. He also acknowledged the works of the great engineer Sir Mokshagundam Visweswarayya in the society through engineering, which remained him morally and materially forever leaving a landmark for the young aspiring engineers.
Dr.Y.Mallikarjuna Reddy, Principal of VVIT, after digitally inaugurating the celebrations, lit the lamp of knowledge and paid floral tributes to Sir Er.Mokshagundam Visweswaraya, in all respects and expressed that the budding engineers should learn a lot from the life of that legendary engineer. He motivated all the students to be innovative in their pursuit of achieving their goals by strictly adhering to the basics. He reiterated the importance of all branches of engineering in building a bright nation and in playing a vital role in balanced functioning of the society.
All departments organized virtual events and invited scholarly speakers as chief guests to enlighten the students. The Chief guests of these virtual events lauded the efforts of VVIT for its prophetic vision and regimental mission in successfully providing an extraordinary ecosystem for building the national builders.
This Engineer’s day virtual event ended up with national anthem.
Earlier, several online events were conducted for the students of various engineering branches to show case their talents.
In Civil Engineering & Mechanical Departments
The Department of Civil Engineering along with other Technical Events, invited Dr.P.Subbarao, Assistant Professor, NIT, AP as a chief guest to motivate the students with inspirational speech. Sri Subbba Rao with his eloquent speech emphasized the importance of Engineers in the society in nation building. Prof.K.Sridhar Babu, HOD Civil and Prof.N.Kumara Swamy, Dean Academics virtually felicitated the chief guest with all due respects after giving away their inspirational speeches to budding civil engineers.
Department of Mechanical Engineering invited Sri N.D.Raghuram, Advisory Consultant, JOCIL India Pvt.Ltd., as chief guest. Sri Raghuram inspired the students with his eloquent speech. Prof.K.Satyanarayana, Head of Mechanical Engineering along with other faculty members virtually conducted several technical events and motivated the students, the spirit of being a mechanical engineer.
In Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department,
Under the Institution of Engineers India (Students) Chapter, EEE department invited Chief Guest Shri.Ch.Sai Kumar, Systems Engineer from Infosys, Hyderabad Campus for this virtual event. After formally inaugurating the event, Chief Guest Shri.Ch.Sai Kumar, discussed about the opportunities available for Electrical Engineering students after completion of their graduate program in core and IT sector. Mr.Sai Kumar also discussed the recent advances that are emerging in today’s world of automation sector and the challenges involved in learning these software domains. Finally, the chief guest and the resource person ended his session with mentioning the difficulties that are faced by the young graduates in IT sector. As the resource person is also our college ALLUMNI, he shared his work experiences and other activities with the students very closely. Students are very much enlightened by letting knowing these available opportunities for electrical students in automation and IT sector.
Later, the paper presentation competitions on digital platform are held in the topic of advanced technologies in electrical engineering for which students are actively participated in this event and 340 students are attended this event organized in MS Teams online platform.
In Electronics & Communications Engineering Department, Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology Departments
Prof Edara Sreenivasa Reddy, Dean, ANU College of Engineering and Technology, Acharya Nagarjuna University, were invited as the Chief Guest of this virtual event and inspired the budding engineers with his motivation and grass-root level speech. He emphasized that there is a vast scope for innovation and design in the domain of agriculture for supporting the farmers, who stood as backbone for the boost of economy despite the bad hit by Covid-19 pandemic.
Later, “Aikya-2020”, a yearly technical fest, under the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) Student Forum, was organized by the ECE department for the students. Principal-VVIT Dr.Y.Mallikarjuna Reddy, Dean of Studies Prof K.Giribabu, Professor & Head, ECE Dr. M.Y.Bhanu Murthy motivated the budding engineers with their scholarly speeches. The entire events were successfully organized by the students virtually on MS Teams platform.
“Aavega”, a technical fest, by CSE & IT & Computer Applications departments, under the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) –VVIT chapter was conducted virtually. This fest included the App-A-thon, Code-E-than, Tech-View, Techno-Art, Tech-Hunt like events which instill the innovative design solutions from the challenging problems in the Computer Science & Information Technology domains. Students from various nearby Engineering colleges were enthusiastically participated.
Prof. R.Eswaraiah, Head CSE, Prof. A.Kalavati, Head, IT, Prof. N.Koteswaramma, Head, Computer Applications, inspired the students with their speeches.
All the department wise events were ended up with a closing remark by Principal Prof. Y.Mallikarjuna Reddy.
