Under the aegis of the RACE Club of Department of Civil Engineering in Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology, a Guest Lecture on was conducted today 27th July 2018 on the  “Inland waterway Transport-Challenges and prospects”. Sri S.V.K. Reddy, Chief Engineer of Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), Govt of India, acted as the Chief Guest and Resource person for this guest lecture. The final year Civil & Mechanical Engineering students participated in this guest lecture.

The Chief Guest & Resource Person Sri S.V.K.Reddy, after formally inaugurating the seminar, inspired the audience on various clichés of water way transportation and emphasized on the challenges in that domain. Sri S.V.K.Reddy commended the efforts of VVIT for arranging this kind of Guest Lectures, Seminars and Workshops for bridging the gap between curricular and real-time aspects in Civil engineering.

Principal Dr.Y.Mallikarjuna Reddy, on this occasion urged the members to inculcate the habit of lifelong learning. Dr. Reddy also said that this kind of Guest lectures by eminent personalities will spur the research acumen in the students and faculty.

Prof. T.Sridhar Babu, HoD, Civil and Dean Prof. N.Kumara Swamy also enlightened the students on the cutting edge technologies in Civil Engineering and the way how to imbibe that knowledge through these guest lectures.

VVIT Principal Dr. Y.Mallikarjuna Reddy along with other faculty members felicitated the resource person as a token of honor for his expertise in the domain.
