For Mechanical Engineering Faculty of various Engineering Colleges in Guntur, Krishna & Prakasam Districts, a 1-Week Faculty Development Program on Advances in Mechanical Engineering began today 23rd October 2017, at Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology, Nambur, under the aegis of its Department of Mechanical Engineering.

The Chief Guest Sri A.Sathish, Deputy Chief Engineer, North East Frontier Railways, Gouhathi, Assam, after formally inaugurating the Program, addressed the participants about the importance of being aware of advancements in Mechanical Engineering and emphasized the need for inculcating these issues to the students along with the curriculum. Sri Sathish also advised the faculty to frequently update their knowledge in the domain of their interest and suggested them to educate their students with ethical values while keeping them updated about the recent multi-faceted growth in the technology. He also emphasized that it’s the primary responsibility for the teachers to make their students as best citizens besides technologically skillful. Sri Sathish commended the efforts of VVIT for conducting this kind of Advanced Programs for the Development of Faculty in the nearby regions.

After the Inaugural session, Dr.Lovaraju, Profession & Head of Aerospace Engineering Department, Lakkireddy Balireddy College of Engineering, Mylavaram,Vijaywada, gave away a technical session in the afternoon about Compressible Flows, an advanced concept on Gas Dynamics, which is a branch of Fluid Mechanics. Dr.Lovaraj, opined that every advancement in the technology must be made aware to the students at their academic level itself so that they can choose their career in the best research and development channel of their interests.

Dr.Y.Mallikarjuna Reddy, Principal, VVIT, in this regard, informed that this kind of training programs will update the faculty and fulfill their thirst for advanced technology. Dr. Reddy, also stated that through these sessions the participants will get awareness on various cutting edge technological aspects which can be disseminated to their students further.

Dr.K.Satyanarayana, HOD, Mechanical Engineering, VVIT, said that VVIT is always a step ahead in conducting this kind of FDPs every year, for the benefit of their students through the faculty. He said around 50 faculty members from nearby engineering colleges participated in this FDP.
