Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology, today received a team from Northeastern University to understand the readiness of VVIT for establishing a Venture Development Centre under the International Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (I2E) intiative of Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC).
The team comprised of Prof. Gregory Collier, Mr Krishna P.Nangadda and two senior officers from APPSDC, which met their program representatives and Principal of host institute and examined various resources available for establishing the Venture Development Centre which conducts courses in Entrepreneurship Development for the budding and aspiring start up Entrepreneurs in a globally mentored but with regionally focussed strategies.
The team after touring the facilities and interacting with the institute’s personnel addressed the students and share their global experiences and outlined the course structure and curriculum plans for the courses in the proposed Venture Development Centre. They also educated the students about the importance of Entrepreneurship while affirming how much ready they are for supporting the students in all aspects via these Venture Development Centres.
Prof. Collier, a professor at Northeastern University, much admired the advanced resources available at the Siemens’ Centre of Excellence and Laboratory facilities provided by APSSDC. He also stated that these facilities were on par with those available at western universities. Mr Krishna, Member of Northeastern University’s IDEA advisory board stated that they were verymuch pleased with the way students of VVIT have presented their prototypes of the projects done for ISB and commended the efforts of VVIT EDC Cell for its efforts.
Throughout this entire event the Northeastern accompanied by the APSSDC senior officials lead by Sri Akash Sinha and other senior officials from APSSDC, VVIT Chiarman Sri Vidya Sagar, Secretary Sri Badari Prasad, Academic Secretary Sri Sree Krishna, VVIT Principal Dr Y Mallikarjuna reddy, Dean Academics Prof. N Kumara Swamy, VVIT Innovations and Entrepreneurship Development Cell Coordinator Prof. KVL Somasekhar and Assistant Professor Mr Leonard Lambert, aspiring students and faculty members were present.
