The Prestigious Stanford University, USA organized a Teaching and Learning Studio (TLS) in India from June 21st to 24th, 2017 led by its Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (d.school) under the University Innovation Fellows (UIF) programme atCoWrks Ecoworld in Bangalore.The rationale of this programme is to persuade design thinking in the budding engineering students via the Stanford University Innovation Fellows (Students) and their Faculty Mentors across India.
For this programme our VVIT students Ms. Munipalle Poushya, ECE, Mr. Pamulapati Venkata Sasank, ECE, Ms. Narukullapati Sowmya, CSE and Mr. Salipalli Naveen Kumar, Civil Engineering, of IV year B.Tech attended as UIF members and Mr.Karayil Suresh, Mr.P R Krishna Prasad, Mr.V.Ramachandran as Faculty mentors along with 78 other UIF students and 62 Faculty Mentors from 29 institutions predominantly across South India extended their services.
The workshop scheduled and executed meticulously as below for imparting the design thinking with first 2 days exclusively for the UIF Faculty mentors and remaining 2 days joined by the UI Fellows.

Leticia Britos Cavagnaro , Humera Fasihuddin are Professors and Co-Directors of the d.school, Katie Dzugan,Meenu Singh, Ghan Shyam,Bre Przestrzelski,Erik Olesund,Ashish Goel are the Master Trainers and Laurie Moore the Master Designer are team of resource persons who successfully tapped the design abilities and imparted the idea of design thinking amongst all participants.
The message from this workshop is to empower our students to become agents of change at our institute and initiate activities to ensure that their peers gain the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to compete in the economy of future and make a positive impact on the world.
The core belief of this program as mentioned by the Co-Director, UIF program is that students can be partners with faculty and administrators to help lead change in higher education.
The points to ponder are how to analyze thecampus innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems and to understand the needs of stakeholders with the goal of uncovering opportunities to enrich the educational prospects for the students as emphasized by the Director of UIF.
