To honour the 158th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, National Youth Day is celebrated on January 12 every year. Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology, Nambur organized a traditional National Integrity Walk to venerate the services of the youth icon “Sri Swami Vivekananda”, who changed the world with his beliefs.
Earlier, the popular walk was known as “Darga to Durga” held between the Hazrat-e-Kalesha Mastan Dargah in Guntur to Kanakadurga Temple top Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada. Due to pandemic, this year the traditional walk held as the 5km walk from VVIT to Nambur.

The auspicious walk began with the guard of honour from the NCC Cadets of VVIT accompanied by the Management, Principal, Head of the Departments, Faculty and Students. It has held by visiting and doing prayers in Mosque, Temple and Church at Nambur to spread the message that determination and endurance are the key factors to achieve success in youth’s life but not the religion.

Sri Vasireddy Vidya Sagar, Chairman of VIVA-VVIT Institutions, informed that they were happy to start up once again the traditional programme.  The chief aim of this walk is to “bring unity among all” irrespective of caste, creed and culture. Swami Vivekananda's thoughts have been a driving force for our nation.  He urged the youth to take inspiration from his ideals.

Dr Y. Mallikarjuna Reddy, Principal inspired the students hoping that Swami Vivekananda is an inspiration for millions of youths throughout the world with his teachings. His strong personality, massive knowledge in science and Vedanta, and empathy towards human beings made him the torch bearer of peace and humanity.
The NSS volunteers and the members of the Student Activities Club (SAC) of the college offered all the necessary support and driven the participants to walk actively while following the necessary Covid-19 protocol.

All the students along with Sri Vasireddy Vidya Sagar, Chairman of VIVA-VVIT Institutions, Dr Narendra, renowned Homeo Doctor, in Guntur, as Guest of Honour; Sri S. Badari Prasad, Secretary; Sri M. Sree Krishna, Joint Secretary; Dr Y. Mallikarjuna Reddy, Principal; Dr N. Kumara Swamy, Dean of Academics; Dr K.Giri Babu, Dean of Studies; HoDs; Faculty, staff of VVIT, actively participated in this National Youth Day Walk stressing the theme national integration and ideals of Sri Swami Vivekananda and made a grand success.
